<p>LevelUp English is a Berlin-based education company delivering English project weeks, holiday camps, and educational experiences for schools and families across Germany.</p>
<p>As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented <strong>Freelance Bookkeeper & Finance Coordinator</strong> to help maintain the financial organisation and operational health of the company.</p>
<p>This role combines traditional bookkeeping responsibilities with a modern, process-driven approach. We are particularly interested in finding someone who is excited by automation, AI tools, and smarter ways of working to help us build a lean and efficient finance function.</p>
<p>You will take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the company and act as the bridge between our internal systems and our tax advisor.</p>
<p>Your goal is to ensure that financial information is accurate, organised, up to date, and easy to access while continuously improving processes to reduce administrative workload.</p>
<h2>Aufgaben</h2>
<p><strong>Bookkeeping & Financial Administration</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage and maintain our spend managent tool Spendesk</li>
<li>Organise and reconcile receipts and invoices</li>
<li>Categorise transactions and ensure records are complete</li>
<li>Prepare monthly bookkeeping handovers for our tax advisor</li>
<li>Maintain accurate financial filing systems</li>
<li>Monitor incoming and outgoing payments</li>
<li>Track outstanding invoices and follow up where necessary</li>
<li>Support basic cashflow visibility and reporting</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Process Improvement & Automation</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows</li>
<li>Reduce manual administration through automation and improved systems</li>
<li>Support the implementation of AI-assisted processes where appropriate</li>
<li>Help create a modern and scalable finance function as the company grows</li>
<li>Work with leadership to improve financial visibility and reporting</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Coordination & Communication</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Liaise with team members regarding missing receipts and documentation</li>
<li>Coordinate with our external tax advisor</li>
<li>Ensure financial records remain organised and audit-ready</li>
<li>Provide occasional financial and administrative support to leadership</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifikation</h2>
<p><strong>Essential</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in bookkeeping, finance administration, or accounting support</li>
<li>Strong organisational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities</li>
<li>Familiarity with German bookkeeping processes</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills</li>
<li>Reliable, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset</li>
